Akron Ohio Art
This is a great family event that combines art, crafts, good food and entertainment to recreate the colonial world of Ohio from 1776-1825. Celebrate art with a free interactive outdoor art space showcasing the latest developments in modern art and crafts from around the world, as well as local and national artists. Collectors from across the Midwest will follow the event to find the best American crafts near their homes.
A gallery explores modernism and regionalism in northeastern Ohio from the early 1900s to the 1950s. Andy Warhol paints Elvis on witty silkscreen, and on the walls of the gallery hangs a new exhibit of his witty drawings and paintings. The exhibition includes works by artists of all eras, including John Merritt, Robert Rauschenberg, Paul Gauguin, David Hockney and others. Engles said in his letter to members on Monday: "We continue to see the Akron Art Museum navigate through difficult times. We are happy to share our art collection with the community and we are grateful for your support as we move through this difficult time, "he said. The Akron Museum spans more than three centuries of art, combining old bricks and limestone from the late 19th century with modern artworks from the early 20th century to the present. When it opened in 1922, it was known as the Akron Art Institute and housed 2 loan rooms and a public library. Since 1981, after a major renovation, the Akron Art Museum has been housed in the building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as one of the oldest public art museums in the country. The Akron Museum also houses people with physical disabilities.
The Akron Art Museum, housed in the historic building, was opened in 1899 as the city's central post office. In 1922, a small heterogeneous art collection was located in the basement of a public library, addressed to students of the Akron Art Institute.
In its heyday, Akron was a manufacturing center that supplied the truck and automotive industries, and though it embraced its manufacturing roots, it remains a no-frills city. The restaurant scene is more homely than trendy, although you can find amazing food in quirky places. Local favourites include Luigi's, which serves casual Italian fare, and Drive-In, an Akron chain responsible for the burger touted as America's best cheeseburger. The restaurant is located in the Courtyard by Marriott Akron Downtown and shares space with the Akron Art Museum and Akron Museum of Art.
Viewers can put themselves in the artist's perspective and compare the scene with the situation today. If you are an Ohio resident, visit the library across the street to see the original works from the museum's collection that will be on display in your home for four weeks. It is expected that there will be changing exhibitions, each selected to match the theme or genre of the gallery. Admission is free, and you can also take an illuminated tour of the exhibition at the Akron Museum of Art.
