Akron police have arrested a white owner of a car repair shop for a gun-law violation in connection with the shooting of a black man outside his store Tuesday night. Earl Kelvington, 66, was charged by Akron Police Department's criminal division with carrying a concealed weapon at 6: 30 p.m.
Kelvington is accused of approaching a black man, James Griffie, as he asked if he was waiting for a bus across the street from his car repair shop. He and others have been relying on the rides to work since last week, accusing him of approaching him in the parking lot of his business to ask if they were waiting for the bus. Griffinie told police he had been waiting outside his store for about 10 minutes when a man, later identified as Kelveton, approached and asked if he was waiting for the buses, according to an Akron police report. Griffies told him he wasn't, he left, but eventually he went to another bus stop and returned with a shotgun in his lap, the report said.

We have solved the climate problem at a fraction of the cost of other businesses and all our work is guaranteed. Rich took time to explain the options we had to fix the exhaust leak and did not put pressure on us to spend more than we absolutely needed. The dealer offered us a diagnosis for $150 to replace the air compressor after we replaced it. We went beyond repairing the AC compressor, we went through all the extra work we need to do and repaired it for less than $100.
Sipplen said Griffie did not condone threats against Kelvington or his company and that anyone who made them did not do so at the behest of his family. He simply repeated what the problem was and hoped that everything would go smoothly for him, his wife and their children.
