I've loved Stan Hewett ever since I moved to Ohio more than 10 years ago. They have a Japanese Garden. AA started there. No kidding, Bob and Bill met at the Gate House on these grounds. The mansion is gorgeous and decorated especially nice for the holidays. A different theme each year. There is an old stone quarry which provides the wonderful rock work on the land, and exquisite gardens. A super gift shop and great spot to eat lunch, etc. Food is wonderful. I've seen Shakespearean plays here, they have an Antique Car show every Father's Day, and many other wonderful events. You can go through the grounds only, or the house and grounds. Its definitely worth the cost of admission. I've attended a wedding there and the settings for photos are beyond belief. Archways, gorgeous backdrops, tree lined lane, etc. etc. If you have an hour or a day...make it a point to go here. It is also historic. The people who founded it were in the rubber business and hosted Presidents and dignitaries from around the world. I particularly loved the tour of the kitchen. They sell plants in the greenhouse and the butterfly section is a wonderful new touch. Its incredible to have them fly around you and land on you....not as big as the one in Niagara Falls, but very nice.

Pros: Its simply gorgeous. I visit fabulous homes and gardens whereever I travel. AAA+++

Cons: Gardens cover many acres. I don't think there is much help for handicapped or elderly.

There is always something to do here no matter the season. They have guided tours, you can view the grounds after, there is a gift shop on site. Beautiful place. I suggest going there in the spring and then again in the winter. It is a little pricey for the tours, but so worth it to see all there is to see here.
